Further information: Designed by three architect students, Kokko, Rewell and Riihimäki, the Lasipalatsi building represents a vibrant interpretation of functionalism. Construction, which began in the summer of 1935, was partially finished already in the same year. Upon its completion in 1936, this temprorary bazaar building was a sight to see, drawing people even from further afield to admire it´s spacious and light-filled interiors. Impressive neon lights and signs have formed a colourful part of Lasipalatsi right from the start.
